What is a visa certificate?

A visa (also known as an entry visa) is an important document issued by the government of a country to foreigners who wish to enter that country. Visas are usually issued by stamping them into a passport.
Depending on the country and the purpose of the visa, the validity period varies for each type of visa. In Vietnam, entry visas issued to foreigners can be categorized into the following types:

1. Tourist visa:
Valid for 30 days from the date of entry, usually issued to tourists, allowing single entry and exit through international border crossings. May be extended if there is a valid reason.

2. Business Visa:
Valid for 90 to 180 days from the date of entry, this visa is typically issued to foreigners coming for business or investment opportunities, allowing multiple entries and exits through international border crossings. It can be extended if there is a valid reason.

3. Temporary residence permit:
Valid for one year from the date of entry, it is usually granted to foreigners coming for permanent work or investment, allowing entry through international border crossings. It can be extended if there is a valid reason.

Vietnamese citizens wishing to enter other countries must contact the nearest representative office (Embassy or Consulate General) of that country to apply for an entry visa. The first step is to obtain a Vietnamese passport before applying for this visa.
