Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your first cruise.
Do I need a visa to go on a cruise?+
It depends on the itinerary and your passport. For most Caribbean and Bahamas cruises, US passport holders can board without a separate visa. However, if the ship docks at ports in countries that require visas — such as Vietnam, Brazil, or certain European countries for non-US passport holders — you will need the appropriate visas. Carnival US Travel handles all visa arrangements for our cruise clients.
What is included in the cruise fare?+
Standard cruise fares typically include your stateroom, most meals in the main dining room, onboard entertainment, and ship amenities. They generally do not include specialty restaurants, alcoholic beverages, shore excursions, gratuities, spa, Wi-Fi, or travel insurance. Premium and luxury lines may include more. We always explain exactly what is and is not included when we provide your quote.
Can we have daily Mass on the cruise?+
For our Catholic pilgrimage cruises, we arrange for a priest to accompany the group and celebrate daily Mass onboard or at port churches. For regular leisure cruises, many ships have a chapel available for private prayer. If having Mass is important to you, please let us know when booking — we will select the right itinerary and make all necessary arrangements.
What is the difference between booking directly vs. through Carnival US Travel?+
When you book through us, you receive personalized bilingual service. We can access group rates, apply current promotions, handle special requests, manage all documentation including visas and travel insurance, and provide support in both English and Vietnamese. You pay the same or less than booking directly, with significantly more support.
Is cruising suitable for elderly travelers or those with mobility concerns?+
Modern cruise ships are generally well-suited for elderly travelers — wide corridors, elevators throughout, accessible staterooms, and medical facilities onboard. We always flag accessibility considerations for each itinerary and can recommend the most comfortable ships and cabin categories. Please inform us of any specific requirements when enquiring.
What is a booking window and why does it matter?+
A booking window is the period during which a promotional rate is available. For example, a "Summer Sale" might require you to book between June 2 and July 27, 2026 — even if the sailing departs in 2027. Missing the booking window means losing the promotional rate. Our team monitors all active offers and will alert you when the best rates are available.
Can I book a cruise for a large group or a church community?+
Absolutely — group cruise bookings are one of our specialties. We work with parishes, Vietnamese Catholic communities, and family reunion groups throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Group bookings often unlock special rates, private dining, and dedicated meeting spaces. Contact us to discuss your group size, preferred dates, and destinations.
What cruise lines does Carnival US Travel work with?+
We work with nine major cruise lines: Carnival Cruise Line, Celestyal Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises, and Seabourn. This gives us access to itineraries from budget-friendly family cruises to ultra-luxury expedition voyages across every major ocean and destination.
